Although not totally relevant to BRL it's interesting to note on Thursday the Supreme Court has withdrawn the right for Stevenson Mining to appeal the decision to stop the Te Kuhu mine until the area has been classified as a local purpose reserve. BRL and Stevenson Mining have had a long history of cooperation.
Incidentally, Stevensons said last year it had the support of the Buller District Council and the wider Westcoast public and was expected to have a 16 year lifespan and employ 58 people.
