Nothing stock specific here but I think are 4 types of posters on hot copper the two you mentioned plus these 2.

Group 3 -The rusted on blinded stock holder who is so far under water they dismiss everything that their conscious brain is telling them and run to the safety of group think and the confirmation bias of other holders in the same boat as them -they also try reading between the lines of every company announcement no matter how negative it seems on the surface and trying to find some hidden clue that would justify that it must all part of some management master plan ( the recent cap raise case in point )

Group 4 they are the realists who have seen it all before with other companies in the past and try to pay it forward to warn newbies of possible alternate views to those of the forum cheerleaders.

The sad thing is these posters can often be more valuable to our financial well being than the group think brigade who feel threatened by any alternate negative opinion they try to pigeon hole them with the normal stereo types to try to discredit the poster rather than debating what is being put forward . Trolls, Short sellers , down rampers trying to steel their shares on the cheap etc etc.

In 2006 I got caught up the hype of CDU - it was one of the biggest cult stocks Hot Copper has ever seen - It got to be a $1b market cap ASX 200 company. There were many knowledgeable posters who were warning from the outset that things were not quite as the company was spruiking them.

I took it on myself to challenge each and everyone of these naysayers much in the same fashion as I get challenged now on different stock threads - Fortunately my T/A got me out of that stock in the end with only a flesh wound - I know plenty of others who have done their shirt and lost the lot now its in receivership ( as predicted by the realists from the beginning ) TON was another where far many more people lost money following the heart rampers than those who listened to the naysayers.

I have found great management often can make a success from average resource but average management often cant make a success of a great resource - Once again nothing stock specific in that comment

Yes very sad indeed, CDU was a vacuum mother of all nature mining stock.

sorry, I don't usually want to reply on stock play on public forum which you indicated to my post before.

but I would definitely de risk half my AUZ portfolio if no appendix 3Y buying from management. This world is full of lies... doesn't matter if it's the Government or CEO.

But given the release of their buying...
I double up my holding on these lows as well...
