Agree with pretty much everything that you wrote except for, "Pretty basic but having more markets to trade shares doesn't mean much if there isn't any demand for the share/product. Simply having another market place to trade isn't enough."
Yanks put different - usually higher; valuations on stocks than us Aussies.
Similarly, they will appreciate the magnitude of BP's involvement much more than us.
Add to this the fact that many Aussie punters are deterred by share prices in the dollars and the tailwind the Yanks are getting on the exchange rate.
Given the tightness of the register, we won't have to wait for "demand for the share/product" to see a higher price on the back of the OTC.
Undoubtedly, over time, the company will need to execute; but BP's involvement says plenty.
And by the time we have definitive agreements etc., this stock will be trading MUCH HIGHER than current levels.
