They (State Government) seem to be working through keeping everything alive and ready to approve if they happen to get someone (Read "ANS") with the money to build Oakjee

Details: The Oakajee Development reflects the WA Government’s commitment to using the Oakajee port site for a future port and industrial estateto support the continued development of the Mid West. The State Government owns over 6,000 hectares of land at the proposed Oakajee site, whichincludes a 1,000 hectare port site, 1,300 hectare industrial estate and a 4,000 hectare industrial estate buffer.The Oakajee Development also includes the planned Oakajee Narngulu Infrastructure Corridor (ONIC) that will connect the Oakajee site with theNarngulu Industrial Estate, 12 kilometres south-east of Geraldton. The multi-purpose, multi-use infrastructure corridor contains sections dedicated forrail, road and utilities.To provide improved planning certainty for a future port and industrial development at Oakajee, the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science andInnovation (JTSI) is progressing long term and integrated planning agreements over the Oakajee Development areas.As the Minister for State Development is the proponent for the Oakajee Development Project,
JTSI is seeking an extension to the current portenvironmental approval for a further five years. This is currently being assessed by the Environmental Protection Authority.
