Goodness gracious, BHP having to sell lower grade iron ore! I wonder if its PE will be downgraded to FMG's PE?

BHP iron ore mine struggles to make the grade
Rio Tinto is not the only big miner struggling to maintain the quality of its iron ore, with BHP confirming that one of its biggest mines in Western Australia will produce lower grade material for at least a year.

About 15 per cent of the iron ore BHP sells from Western Australia is a discrete product called ''Jimblebar Fines'', which traditionally has iron content of 61 per cent.

But that grade will fall to 59.5 per cent over the next year, as BHP works through a lower grade section of the Jimblebar deposit.

The lower grade section of the deposit left BHP with a choice; maintain grades and produce lower volumes of Jimblebar Fines, or maintain volumes and sell a lower grade product.
