The Qld chart above was meant to be indicative, not definitive, so we can all 'see' what we are talking about.
Looking at the chart again, it is possible to consider a twice-daily charge-discharge cycle for a well-located battery.
Or, charge-discharge from a synchronous condenser also providing frequency control and ancillary services. Or both.
There is space and grid connection at Smithfield to accommodate all of this, or at the other end at Capitol WF.
The CEFC would be pleased to finance such an addition to the NEM kit.
