Hmmm can't say I ever 'forgot' to sell, I just probably believed in companies a bit more than I should have and thought that everything would be alright in the end.

I've held stocks that went into administration a day after a great quarterly, that I only bought in upon reading the quarterly. I've held stocks where management lied about manufacturing deals that were announced to the market but nothing was ever made despite apparent progress. I've held gold mining stocks where maintenance issues were covered up and capital raising sent the stock to nothing. I've held stocks where smoke and mirrors were only seen too late to get out with any reasonable saviour of capital. I'm still holding a dog stock called BPG, where smoke and mirrors and shonky deals jibbed investors and is currently suspended by ASX.

Now I'm much more careful in what I do, apart from plummeting cryptos that I also hold. I'm realising that putting money into stocks and bits of paper can be dangerous, as these can all goto zero, but having hard assets like bullion bars under your control is a much better idea.
