Qantas have stated their aim to take control of Alliance. They are not in the business of passively investing in airlines.
Knowing the track record of the ACCC, this is their biggest lay down misere in years. so they will probably score another own goal and Qantas will get their wishes.
The ACCC has favoured any privatised ex government entity. Just look at the effort they have put in to blocking the TPG and Vodafone merger. Every day that is blocked gives Telstra further advantage.
The sooner Qantas is off the Alliance share register, the better, at any cost.
