I liked the green agenda he had going, but then when Bill's party started rolling out removing negative gearing and imputation credits being removed, with or without grandfathering I realised that voting in that direction was going to become dangerous for the economy.
Imputation credits are a prepayment of taxation of the distribution that allows the investor and tax payer to claim it back at their relevant threshold.
Negative gearing encourages investors to provide housing to remove the requirement of the government being involved so much.
I am sure the above can be argued many ways, and probably this is something for a political forum rather than here, but it is relevant on the point that I admit that I didn't vote for the party that was all for a new green agenda when I realised that on 2 simple things they didn't have a clue... and were stupid to introduce such negative tax policy during an election that has been declared the unlosable election.
