I sort of remember signing up for the DRP about 15 years ago, and got the interim dividend in shares before I decided I preferred the cash. Dumb move. Got 105 shares - now worth about $24k!
I remember too walking in to the Commonwealth Bank in Swanston Street, after a very long lunch at Paul Bocuse restaurant in Daimaru (now sadly closed), seriously the worse for wear, filling out the prospectus, and writing a cheque for about $4,500. Next day I'd forgotten all about it
Now worth >$1.35M. Unbelievable really!
