The programs were executed over several site visits consisting of processing reviews and intensive laboratory evaluations of the SciDev chemical portfolio. "Jon Gourlay (B. Comm, CA) was appointed to the board in May 2019. He is currently commercialization manager for technology and innovation at Newcrest Mining Ltd (since 2011), with prior roles in investor relations, analysis and improvement of Newcrest’s operations at the Lihir Island gold mine, PNG. Interestingly, he requested remuneration on an equity basis rather than cash"
The gold deposit at Lihir is within the Luise Caldera, an extinct volcanic crater that is geothermally active, and is one of the largest known gold deposits in the world. Most of the ore is refractory and is treated using pressure oxidation before the gold is recovered by a conventional leach process.
