Who told you Indonesian HPAL players to deliver strongly and on time for the first time. What do they produce?
What happened with Glencore's HPAL in relation to cost?
Using HPAL method for laterite ores in Indonesia and Africa is a dud.
Laterite ores are mostly lower grade ores compared to WSA's oxide ores. Laterite ore has higher iron/bauxite contents than nickel. The reason for Glencore to use HPAL was because they want to have higher recovery rate for cobalt.
If Indonesia producers apply HPAL in their laterite ores. Do they want higher recovery for Iron or Bauxite?
WSA did mention about the troublesome HPAL plant that is why It's only suitable to recover valuable commodity.
If Ni price is going nowhere then It's hard for WSA to apply this recovery method.
