The fact that they have had to suspend due to pressure at near target depth is pretty telling, from an old
presentation it appears that the highest pressure expected to be found in the region was 8000 psi, I'd assume the drilling program was designed around this.

While it's frustrating that they have had to suspend before getting all the info it's worth taking in the significance of what we do now know. They have hit high pressure gas, with interts at around target.

Mt Kitty 1 was designed to test the Heavitree Quartzite, a Neoproterozoic shallow marine quartzose sandstone. The Heavitree Quartzite outcrops in the northern Amadeus Basin, but has only been penetrated by one well in the southern Amadeus (Magee 1, 138 km NE), as other wells in the vicinity (Murphy 1, 32 km NW and Erldunda 1, 46 km NE) terminated in the overlying halite of the Gillen Member. Magee 1 intersected 6.3 m of Heavitree Quartzite which flowed 0.063 MMscf/d on test, with the gas comprising 43.5% nitrogen, 39.5% methane, 6.25% helium and <1% CO2. The Mt Kitty prospect was defined on a broad 2D seismic grid as a three-way dip closure against a thrust fault that is ultimately sealed by diapiric salt. Maximum aerial closure amounted to 164kkm2 with vertical relief of 650 m. The well was drilled at shot point 802 on seismic line CMK06-08. The Amadeus Basin contains up to 12 km of marine and non-marine sedimentary rocks deposited throughout the Neoproterozoic and Early Palaeozoic eras punctuated by several significant structural events. Throughout this succession, five petroleum systems are developed of which the Mt Kitty prospect targeted the oldest, namely the Lower Gillen–Heavitree petroleum system.
