Theoretically, to produce battery grade Li2CO3 you would need the Carbonation stage onwards which is a very simple step. No ponds or Calcium and Magnesium removal stages as those impurities are removed through the ion exchange process. No need for a purification circuit either.
This is why the Phase 1 engineering study suggested Opex of US$2600pt was possible.
