Opportunities... they could buy Fannie or Freddie, i hear they are going cheap.....the trouble is that there is a reason that many financial institutions are in distress....and it is not becouse they are strong companies in a strong industry.....it may be years before the rubbish gets cleaned up in this industry, I dont beleive that now is a good time to get a bargain....and if they are smart they will hold onto all their capital until the industry has been cleansed, which may be a couple of years......and hope they are not the ones that get cleansed.

As for Asian growth....their economys are going to struggle at best, when the US, UK etc face reality and stop trying to pretend all is well....Developed world gets a hard recession, could even go as far depression in the US, Asia struggles, resource demand falls Australia suffers......Australian banks in trouble....add 1+1, connect the dots, play dominoes it is obvious however you play the game.......may not happen but why would you be here if the chance is substantial..........
