cfu started her descent way back in the first market shock in august, and has struggled to recover, even with a descent rally towards the end of last year.
Boilers have a major "distressed purchase" factor about them, in other words, u usually replace them when u have to, rather than being a discretionary purchase...makes sense, as i can only remember replacing my hot water service when it gave up the ghost.
don't quote me, but from memory reading one of the presentations, about 6 million boiler units are sold per year in europe.
i do see your point on the current market sentiment of potential new home starts, and im not sure how big an impact this could be.
also as I understand it, cfu are banking on the utilities driving most of the sales, cfu not really entering the consumer side of things, and correct me if i've got the wrong idea, we should remember we are in the business of producing efficient power, targeting places where power isn't as cheap as here in oz... hot water and heating being a bonus and adding to their already impressive efficiency figures.
