dont think the short selling thing will last long because they will just find another way to short the stock. Bring back the uptick rule, that will slow down the volatility.

Why dont people just hold onto their stock and not lend. Problem is lending stock getting a fee but the sp of that stock gets hammered. Wonder why people would even let their brokers to lend their shares.
