Unfortunately for Abrahamic religions in particular, the record for fostering good will is very much a mixed bag and continues to be. In general they tolerate good will, as long as it's their version of good will.

Yes it is selective , good will is the "highest good for all " not just a few . very hard to achieve , it has to be selfless :-( for most..
