Obviously much more processing of industrial grade >0.8% SC6 to fit “chemical grade parameters is one way around, but doing so hides costs, conflates truly economic CG SC6 <0.8% with sub par SC4-5-6, which distorts LCE spot pricing.
I think Ganfeng is happy to exploit the confusion in grading. And new producers happy to conflate what is distinct.
Look to Talisons Greenbushes for benchmarking, and you’ll see that there has been an immense hullabaloo by new producers.
Forget tech grade, chemical grade is still a destiny and an expense one.
The more the market sees specifications for chemical, technical and industrial And suspects manipulation of spot prices by the big converters in China the more the market wakes up.
It’s really simple what chemical grade is.
