No one is saving others from their “savage ways”, much less europeans. It is merely the continuous natural progress of things within the constrain of the dynamic that is evolution. Australia being successfully claimed and controlled by the british at the expense of the Aborigines was merely an event that is part of that natural progress. Some events accelerate the progress while others decelerate it. The kicker is that we do not know which is which, no one does. What we can be sure of in absolute is that all of us are born on this earth, all have the right to live on this earth and yet we have no ownership of anything of this earth. This translates in absolute into the aborigines and their claim to Australia. They do not own this land and never did, so it is absolutely wrong for them to claim that they do. Likewise,
Hong Kong does not belong to China but instead belongs to anyone who is strong enough to lay claim to it. If it is the Communist Party of China, and there is no one else willing to contest the claims, then Hong Kong belongs to the PRC.
The logic goes for everything on this earth that human beings covet. It is that simple, any other aspects are just useless noise.
