The government seems clueless , that's true.
Not sure the landowners are divided when the SMLOLA had over 1000 at their AGM & voted in the leadership unopposed.
Masono is clearly compromised in anything he says given that he, & the Finance minister, are the ones pushing the Cabalus proposal.
So anything that comes out of his mouth has to be taken with half a ton of salt.
Given the government wants to nationalise their land & their mineral rights. Rights that they fought a war over.
And the government refuses to sit down & have a meaningful conversation & negotiation with them over this proposed confiscation & land grab.
What do you expect the landowners to do?
They have very few bargaing chips & are being pushed into a corner.
If the 'letter' exists it seems to point out the minimal choices the landowners have to force a discussion & negotiation.
Masono seems to be taking the Beijing approach, my way or else!
