"He was a mature adult who had made no official complaint for all those years until the corrupt Victoria Police successfully trawled him and encouraged him to complain."

That was from the post of Doubting Thomas on the website, not me. Although I wouldn't label the Victorian Police as corrupt I thought the point that no complaint was made for so long could raise suspicions in some minds so I included his full post

I do strongly agree with some of Doubting Thomas's other statements. In the retrial the accuser didn't appear before the jury so they didn't get to see other factors such as body language, which like it or not, we all take into account, consciously or subconsciously. There was also a time lag between trials where the jury could have heard all sorts of information in the media which was not intended for the trial. Then magically the jury swings from 10-2 in favour of acquittal (first trial) to 12-0 in favour of guilty.

Anyone who watched the full announcement from the appeal panel of three judges would have heard some statements attributed to the third judge who voted for acquittal. To summarise, he said what many other experts are saying, that there were many points that should have aroused suspicion in the minds of the jurors but for some reason they didn't.
