You would have to be pretty unlucky or very open about it, to actually be caught in Singapore with drugs.
He obviously thought he was above the law being a journo.
He will probably be heavily fined, get 6 cuts with the cane and be told to be on his merry way and to never return to Singapore again.If he can't take the 6 cuts of the cane in one time, he may have to stay over for a while until the wounds heal up and he would then be given the rest.
