I was wandering through the below IO info on WA and thought I'd throw it against the info at
http://geokarnataka.blogspot.com/2007/04/iron-ore-resources-of-karnataka.html
that we have all bee looking at.
Three points jumped out at me - can anyone add anything:
1. Karnataka BIF holds about 45-55% iron, while W.A. BIF appears to average 30%
2. I note the presence of Vanadium at Karnataka which is proving to be a good deal for some of our local miners.
3. The website talks of extensive Laterites with iron contents ranging btn 25-40% as being uneconomical in India - however we mine W.A. Beneficiable ore with as little as 25% Fe - can anyone explain why the Laterites in India can't be similarly processed as we do here to raise it to over 60% Fe?
Cheers![]()
