short selling debate based on asx info

So I caught this info on another thread,

My understanding from the list there are 33,330,022 rounds of ammo that could be dumped and someone has already reported being 4,856,571 short.....

With this knowledge can't the shorts now become the targets? Its just like targeting a directo that has stock tied up in a margin loan isnt it?

(This is my understanding if I am not understanding it correctly please inform me)
