    No I don’t think so. You have to borrow stock from somewhere so when Norges lends it out, their position is reduced. When the stock is returned to them, it increases again. That’s why they put out so many notices - because they’re facilitating the shorting of the stock.

    Think about it, if you borrow stock to sell short, you’re actually selling it so it then it’s owned by the party that purchased your sold stock. You can’t have two owners.

    That’s always been my view and I’m happy to be corrected. It’s such an opaque process and the notices are also deliberately opaque.
