A job is a job, pecs but a life is a life also. You were lucky not to have been "hurt" by that but you have to allow the fact that when people are forced to get into slavery -miles away from home, paid pittance (that was the real issue there, along with the stiff contract), made to pay exorbitant rent etc, etc... they just might not be too keen to do it and should be left alone -or given an alternative. They were a little "slow" and so the channel (and all the shock jock radio stations) tried to turn them into a joke and made tons of money on it.
Practices like that are exploitative and abusive; the core of fascism.
The Herald-Sun had pages and pages on them as well. Had their pictures plastered everywhere! Calling them "ungrateful teens" and other disparaging names. Straight out of third world conditions.
It really showed me what shocking lows the tabloid media can sink to. I'm beginning to remember more and more of the case. Shameful stuff. Whipped up a proper frenzy in Melbourne, I remember that!
