Speaking of cakes my mate has started 2 cake factorys, 1st one was growing and making lots of money selling to major supermarkets, Sarah Lee brought it for over 20 million, as it was in competition to thier brand, Had to wait 4 years before getting back into the cake business built another good business same deal big player brought them out.
What always worries me about new tech is old players shelving good inventions because its in direct conflict to their other products. Happens way to much. But they do have to pay allot to take out the competition.
