Just watched Fowl Dinners, it was quite confronting. Relentless pressure from consumers/supermarkets for cheap product leads to miserable lives for the chickens. I know not everyone has a choice to pay a little extra but I'll make a greater effort to ensure the meat I purchase comes from animals that are treated with some respect during their short lives which are killed humanely. Plus free range eggs etc.
I wonder if a fast food chain promoted itself as using free range chickens (but cost say a dollar more) whether it would build market share, or maybe nobody cares?
