While MHEV are very much a transitionary platform, a cost efficient means to achieve the immediate goal of reducing TOTAL vehicle emissions, there is absolutely nothing to validate BEV as the ultimate solution.
ICE as we know it today definitely has a limited horizon, but you are making the presumption no further development in energy efficiency or emissions reduction is possible.
I have far more confidence in the powerful driving force of simple economics, which extends to delivering vehicles with the features customers WANT to buy, PROFITABLY.
