So, the us DoD found out that some magnets were being used from China back in 2015 on F35 and they were not happy. Also found a couple Jap parts on F35. Mostly small non critical parts but everything in USA has to be what’s known as “BERRY COMPLIANT” which is legislation requiring all USA vertical integration unless otherwise authorized regardless of price. US companies compete.

In regards to NdPr magnets. I found several custom manufacturers in the USA. I called one and got some info. We make them, but not competitively for global consumption, but if Berry Compliant calls yeah we can do it. However, they do need the high purity oxides. This is the problem. Yes we import most NdPr magnets for civilian consumption, but DOD we make them because DOD has to buy from us company unless waivers by congress.

So as it was explained to me. We can manufacture it, but need the oxide. The oxide is getting waived as ok to purchase outside berry compliance if from trusted ally. The DoD has spoken with Arafura and others and are going with Australia. They also spoke with us companies I mentioned and Canadian and companies in Africa.

The us companies manufacturing will need to eventually have to offtake with whoever the DoD either helps out, but the DoD wants a natural winner not pick a winner (they are not a business). This apparently is the hold up.

This is either going to be Lynas or Arafura or both.

I bought more today.

Did you ask them if they do SmCo or NdFeB?

If the latter do they do oxides > metals > alloy > powders > sintered or bonded NdFeB?

Available grades NdFeB?

Annual capacity?
