FEED = Front End Engineering Design i.e. the Basic Engineering which is conducted aftercompletion of a Conceptual Definition or Feasibility Study. Not all projects follow these stages, but it is likely that the Dorado pre-FEED or concept definition stage will have landed on a single development plan and defined the field and production architecture and layout. FEED studies figure out the technical issues and refine the cost estimate for the investment - down to +/- 10% if done well. The output of the FEED stage is a FEED package which becomes the basis for bidding for the EPC contracts..
