I am interested in trying to understand how market mechanics works when an SPP is active as a news item.
I have observed plenty of SPP announcements where in the interim decision making allowable time a floor price is set on the SP value where it doesn't fall below the SPP at least leading into this expiry. How does it work in practice? Are companies allowed to get someone or use their own funds to prop up the trading value of the SP to ensure there is incentive for existing holders to take up or this is just new holders chasing the opportunity as the 'missed out' sentiment? @h00ts or anyone can perhaps take a stab at a credible explanation? Thanks.
