I too sold about 1/3 of my holding at 1.71 not long ago, so John W may have come to the conclusion that I did to bank some profit and hold some cash in case the markets have a sizable correction or if the house of cards collapses under the weight of cheap money..
Based on the price of gold coming back to 1500 us per oz I am thinking it a good investment decision , so congrats to JW for a wise move and yes he may have needed the money for a large property purchase or a new Ferrari or Tesla top of the range, who knows, but I am comfortable with it.
Most of my buying has been down at around $1 , with a 1.14 ave in my super and 1.03 in the wife's super.It wont fo back there but sub 1.50 I will be tempted.
