I’ve seen it happen to often where expansion is too fast and managements focus is diverted from it’s core business and eventually the whole business suffers.
Expansion into a new category (biz BNPL) takes a lot of time and resources to ensure it executes correctly.
I could be completely off the mark with my comments but worth a discussion at the very least
