If that's the case, it drives me to make sure I leverage the full 80% of the property off the bank, and put the leveraged amount on the market. If the property market or the bank drops out and decides to sell my property, they will soon chew into their equity, not mine.
This method in todays climate (providing invested wisely) would probably be more secure than having the back hold 50% equity in the house, rather than only 20%.
