Wrong. Users do need to run a node to personally verify the bitcoins they receive. Otherwise you cannot tell whether you've received 1 bitcoin out of the possible 21 million bitcoins on issue. Just because a third party (such as a wallet provider, app) tells you you've received bitcoins, does not mean it's correct. You are trusting the wallet provider to act in your best interests, you've outsourced the verification process to them.
Users need to run nodes as well, not only miners. Please don't spread misinformation.
