The issues are too many to face. If you promised me that you'd give me several million dollars if I could solve international cross border logistics, I would say hells yeah I'd try to solve it... but I honest to god would not know where to start, even though I've been in the industry my entire career.

Just the sheer number of hands and contact points that an item that we buy today in the shops is amazing.

You'd think logistics is a simple 5 step process: Factory -> Departure port -> Ship -> Arrival port -> Store / Warehouse

You'd be dead wrong. Just between Factory -> Departure port is probably 6 different parties touching it. And the biggest nightmare is Departure port -> Ship -> Arrival port where a country's official customs, freight forwarders, shipping companies, docking companies, cargo handlers, insurance and freighting agents, customs clearance agents, break-bulk, loading, consolidation, inland freight, and all these other little bits and pieces simply make it an almost impossible task to digitize.
