Daiso claims to have over 5000 stores worldwide. It operates 37 stores in Australia with plans to have 60 by the end of 2020. It is Japan's second biggest retailer
The stores have around 15,000 items to choose from, with Daiso offering around a potential 100,000+ items.
Products are rotated regularly to entice regular shoppers
With Daiso, copycat style asian discount shops also spring up offering similar items, and also competing in TRS space
