Uprising resort on Fiji's Coral Coast (near Pacific Harbour) is a laid back slice of paradise for holiday makers not trying to impress. Locally sourced food, a beautiful beach and pool, privacy. Aircon if you so desire, garden and beach villas. Spent the larger part of one day watching the locals weave palm fronds into a new gazebo roof. Still trying to replicate at home. So relaxed was the vibe that we went on a trip to a close island with a picnic lunch. The boat driver came with the boat. Half way there it stopped and after a few tries the driver phoned back to the resort, (which we could see in the distance, so it wasn't THAT far). The driver's mobile had no battery. We hadn't took ours. So it was decided to eat our lovely picnic lunch and wait until someone realised we hadn't returned. Or I could swim back. The rest of the family weren't confident. So it came to be that we were rescued at about 5.30pm, quite sunburnt and hubby, who gets seasick, took most of the boat up lying on his back dryreaching. Unforgettable memories. But we did get free massages next day! And we have been back a few times since.

Part of water sport all those decades ago was a trip on a trimaran to another island for lunch from Castaway.
That was the first time I saw dolphins.
I was flat on my stomach at the bow and watched them as they swam. One great highlight. Boy did that put a smile on my dial.
