    If you could patent “genetics”, there would be patented David Beckham and Tom Cruise sperm available in every pharmacy.

    You can’t patent genetics.

    You CAN register “Plant Breeders Rights” all over the world. That is the business plan of Monsanto and “Round Up Résistant Corn” for example.

    But patenting genetics is against the law everywhere. Restrictions on growing other people’s PBR’s IS a thing. It is WAY different from a “patent”.
