Arterioles would branch into a vast network of Capillaries, the smallest blood vessels which are 5 - 10 micron in diameter. It's the Capillaries which carry red blood cells to individual tumour cells.
Cafa's posting has mentioned the size of the microspheres being 20 - 60 microns:
If you watch the Sirtex video, Y-90 microspheres are too large to get into the Capillaries before they blocked the blood flow i.e. embolization has occurred. You would hear the word "surface" 3 times in the video at 2:59; 3:14 and 3:41 I don't intend to mislead anyone in HC.
