Yes some beads do escape, but only a small number, and as with anything skill and experience of the clinician improves safety. Having said that some patients may not be suitable for SIRT treatment because of the presence of shunts, and there is a small and well known incidence of radiation related side effects due to this.
Treatment with radiation always has the potential for serious side effects. That would include Oncosil's treatment as well.
