not so crazy really, it’s been done before. I worked on the detail design phase on a converted jackup rig which we modified to do an extended production test. Basically it had minimal separation and production facilities on it. The strategy was to build and install a platform which was quick and cheap, get it in place and earn the money for a full facility. From memory it was in place in 6 to 9 months go to whoa, and ran for about a year before it was removed to make way for the full facility. In CVNs case, the equipment out there now isn’t capable of this.
