US short term money markets are stressed at the moment and the Fed has needed to intervened this week like it did during the GFC. When short term money markets dry up and banks don't lend to each other in overnight markets the system is in trouble. Repo rates spiked to 10% this week and the Fed needed to move to add billions of liquidity into the money market.Esh
