Some towns in my region of QLD have already run out of water and Im on my last tank with probably 1 month of water left. No rain on the near or medium horizon. Federal government wont even discuss building a dam. Most of their backers are probably living in a metro area and could not give a toss about the regions. They will when their food supply starts to dry up. Towns in QLD that are or have run out are some of the biggest fruit and vegitable growing areas in Australia. This climate thing is no longer on the horizon and will very soon begin to impact all of Australia.

Ask the state government. They have wads of cash to spend on the Olympics bid so some evap plants or trucks of water shouldn't be a problem to keep the state alive? "Let them eat dust' is the reply you will get though.
