The person I’m referring to did get back to me. I won’t name them as I don’t have their permission and they were involved in EAR.
This person said they met with the Maso Capital guys recently to discuss EAR and believes that they did use Nomura as their broker. Didn’t provide any other details and I didn’t ask. Take it with a grain of salt but the facts certainly support the thesis that Nomura are acting on behalf of someone (likely Maso) and that same someone was also buying EAR before the NST takeover.
