Mont, this is in reply to your post on "green day" thread. (I reckon we ought to keep the EGM matter on one thread for simplicity.)

I think you are misinterpreting the proposal as "stirring". It has nothing to do with the hard working people at the coal face as you say, the Maninni's etc. This is about the board and their mismanagemetn and arrogant disregard for thier shareholders. I am particularly upset with the attitude of Chairman Cussack and I strongly believe that he and several others on this underperforming, overstaffed board should go.

The proposals put by bvb so far and added to (point 4) by subsequent posting are:

1 - Proposed buy back of shares between $500million to $750million perhaps.

2 - Approve an options package instead of payout to Owen. Options to be issued at say $4 face value and low exercise?

3 - Remove Barry Cusack from the chairman position, possibly put Owen there.

4. Immediately reduce the size of the Board (to..?)
