I worked on the iron ore port upgrade project in Karratha last year. There certainly is a line up for projects in the near future but a fall in commodity prices will see a lot of them get knocked on the head. The more projects that come on line mean more supply. How long it takes is the million dollar question.
Getting back to property prices though. I pity the poor suckers that are holding the potatoe when the construction boom finishes in some of these dust bowls. Nobody would want to pay $700k for a shanty in the middle of nowhere if there isnt big money to be made. The fall in these places will be HUGE!
