I agree with all that you have said above. Just like your capital gain is not locked in, neither is the dividend. Companies can reduce or even eliminate their dividends, whereas what you get with the bank is guaranteed (up to $250k) as long as you have your money with an ADI.

I didn't say my money is better in the bank in general. I am of the view that there are better alternatives than investing in DDR at these prices - there is no margin of safety at these levels and there are better risk/reward opportunities in the market among the basket of companies I follow. Even so, it is always prudent to hold a % of your portfolio in cash to take advantage of irrational swings in the market.

As for why I am here, I watch this company among others for potential opportunities to enter. You ask that as if it is some sort of crime to do so haha.
